About Dave Christie

I did not start this work because I had it all figured out. I started it because I got it wrong.

Dave Christie is the founder of Flourish Foundry, a business coach and commercial advisor based in Nantwich, Cheshire. He is an ILM Level 7 qualified coach and mentor, a Great British Entrepreneur Awards 2025 finalist, and has worked with hundreds of business owners, founders and challenger brands.

Like most business owners, I was busy. Working hard. Trying to push things forward. But underneath that, I was missing something.

The realisation

I was focused on the wrong things.

At one point, I built something I was convinced would work. Time went into it. Money went into it. Energy went into it. And it went nowhere.

Not because I did not care. Not because I did not work hard. Because I was focused on the wrong things.

I was asking: How do I sell this? How do I push this? How do I make this work? I was not asking: Should this exist? Is this built on anything solid? Am I focusing on what actually matters?

That was the shift.

“Most business owners are not failing. They are diluted.” — Dave

What I see now

Too many ideas. Too many priorities. Too much open work.

Owners are busy, but not finishing. And because nothing is obviously broken, it is easy to stay there. Working harder. Adding more. Hoping things will move.

The One Hat principle

You do not wear many hats. You wear one. Owner.

Most owners get pulled into everything: delivery, messages, meetings, decisions, people, problems and half-finished work. Flourish Foundry helps owners step back into the owner role, protect time, choose what matters and finish before adding more.

01

Protect Time

Block, protect and respect the time the work actually needs. No more decision-by-message-thread.

02

Focus Attention

Decide what matters this quarter. Then say no to everything that is not on that list.

03

Finish the Work That Matters

Stop starting. Start finishing. The compound effect is in completion, not intention.

04

Progress Follows

Protected time, focus and finished work make progress inevitable. No hustle required.

Experience

This work is not based on observation.

It comes from being directly involved in:

  • Working with business owners across different stages of growth
  • Supporting challenger brands moving into retail and distribution
  • Working with independent health stores and practitioners
  • Managing commercial relationships, buyers and listings

The same patterns show up everywhere. Too much going on. Not enough getting finished.

How I work

This is not about motivation or surface-level advice.

  • Asking better questions
  • Challenging what does not make sense
  • Removing what does not matter
  • Focusing on what actually moves the business

Sometimes that means stepping back. Sometimes that means being direct. Always, it means getting to the point where something meaningful gets finished.

What matters

Time is the real constraint in business.

Where it goes determines what moves. If it is spread too thin, progress slows. If it is focused properly, things change quickly.

That is the work: how decisions are made, how time is used, how work is prioritised and what actually gets completed. Not theory. Real work that changes how the business runs.
